OmniPost Case Study – University of Birmingham

The University of Birmingham had been using Pitney Bowes arrival system for the past few years. The contract was due for renewal, and when ExPD approached us with their internal mail tracking solution ‘OmniPost‘ we decided to have a look at what other options may be available to us.

Our now account manager, Adrian Harris, came up to Birmingham and went through a product demonstration with us. He also took the time to listen to any specific needs we as a University had. Following a formal quote that was tailored to our exact requirements, we tendered a few companies for the contract to supply – and were pleased when it was awarded to ExPD.

ExPD then set up our user database and location structure, this was followed by an onsite visit giving all our post team training on how to use the system. As the system is web based it was all very simple.
We did have an issue at first with connecting our handheld devices to the Universities WIFI network, Adrian quickly resolved this for us by installing our own MIFI box that we can use solely for OmniPost.

We have been using OmniPost since January 2014 and experience minimal issues. Whenever we require support we simply phone ExPD who are pleased to assist us remotely, but when required it’s not too much trouble for them to visit us. The system is continuously being enhanced and updated, making OmniPost even more comprehensive.

We have been really pleased with both the system and the service that ExPD have provided. The system is easy to use and efficiencies have been vastly improved since OmniPost was installed. ExPD have given us a personal service and nothing seems to have been too much trouble. I have no hesitation recommending them to other Universities with a view of improving their internal mail process.
